SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Interested in Applying?

To be considered for the Edan Richard Laidlaw Memorial Scholarship, please complete the application below by October, 15, 2026.

Edan Richard Laidlaw Memorial Scholarship

Edan Richard Laidlaw was an active, musical, and athletic young man who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 14 in January 2020. Known for his constant smile and caring personality, Edan loved music, sports, spending time with friends, and traveling with his family.

In February 2019, Edan and his family joined Traveling with a Purpose on a service trip to Jamaica. Before the trip, Edan helped his parents, Stephanie and Richard, collect much-needed supplies, and while in Jamaica, he enthusiastically worked alongside fellow TAP team members of all ages.

Following Edan’s passing, Stephanie and Richard established the Edan Richard Laidlaw Memorial Scholarship as a way to honor his life and continue the spirit of service that their family experienced through TAP.

Through their generosity, TAP is honored to offer a $1,000 scholarship to help make a service trip possible for someone who may otherwise face a financial barrier to participating.

Edan’s time with TAP was far too short, but his memory continues to create opportunities for others to serve, connect, and make a difference.
